Pilots,as a special occupation, sit in their seats for long periods of time for training and performing tasks, therefore a well-designed seat can reduce fatigue and soreness of their waist, ischial tuberosity and thighs of long rides.Adopting the human-factors engineering, this paper analyzes the relationship between the pilot seats of general aviation aircraft and the “Human-Factors-Environment,” and tests the seat comfort index by body pressure distribution experiment and subjective questionnaire score. This paper aim to improve the comfort of the pilot’s seats by analyzing the design defects and deficiencies of the pilot seats of existing general aviation aircraft and optimizing the design from the Human Factors Engineering point of view.First of all, with the existing general aviation aircraft as the experimental platform, the "GJB4856-2003 Chinese male pilot body size" is selected as the size standard,by determining the positional relationship between the seat reference point and the foot pedal, the position of the seat reference point and the design position,as well as the seat size are determined.Secondly, through body pressure distribution experiments and subjective questionnaire research, the overall comfort index of the existing pilot seats is analyzed, and is further used as the pain point of the optimization design to convert the seat pressure data into pressure surface as the shape of the optimized seat. Then, the model of Scheme 1 and Scheme 2 are made.By carrying out the body pressure distribution experiment and subjective questionnaire to acquire different angles combinations of the seats. Finally,by analyzing the contact area, contact pressure, peak pressure, static body pressure distribution and circular pressure gradient of body pressure distribution test, the advantages and disadvantages of the existing seats and design schemes are compared by combining subjective comfort questionnaire scores. The experimental results show that the optimized design is better than the existing seat in the comfort of the head, neck, waist, ischial tuberosity, buttocks;and the score of the leg and arm parts share little difference. This indicating that the optimal design body pressure has better distribution and the comfort index is higher. And by analyzing the data of different seat angle combinations, the angle of the seat arrangement is determined.
