| The new development stage requires further deepening the implementation of the new development concept and promoting the continuous optimisation of the spatial pattern of t he countryside.As a typical agricultural region in China,the area along the Huaihuai River Basin faces frequent flooding,prominent agricultural areas and lagging rural development,which seriously restrict high-quality urban and rural development.Taking the Yanhuai region of Anhui Province as the research object,we introduce the system concept and analyse the important spatial security issues from the perspective of th e theory of optimising the spatial pattern of the country.The spatial pattern of land along th e Huaihuai area in Anhui Province is diagnosed and the evolution characteristics of the spat ial pattern of land are analysed.The main factors affecting the spatial security of the land al ong Anhui and Huaihuai areas are analysed,and a comprehensive spatial security pattern st udy is carried out for urban space,production space and ecological space,selecting integrat ed water security,agricultural production security and biological protection security.Land use simulation software is applied to simulate future land use changes and analyse the spati al distribution characteristics of the country in 2035.In turn,countermeasures and safeguar d strategies are proposed to optimise the spatial security pattern from the national land.The main conclusions are as follows.(1)The area along the Huai River in Anhui Province has good location advantages an d superior natural endowments.However,the Huaihe River basin is prone to water and dro ught disasters and serious pollution;the structure of food crop cultivation has not changed significantly,and the stability of food supply is facing challenges;it is the main migration a rea of the provincial population,and the problem of low-utility land needs to be solved urg ently.At this stage,the problems of water security,agricultural production security and eco logical security are becoming more and more urgent,and have become the main contradicti on restricting the social and economic development of the area along the Huai River.(2)From 1980 to 2018,the area of construction land in Anhui along the Huaihuai regi on increased rapidly,the expansion of urban construction land accelerated,and the land co ncentration agglomeration did not change much;the spatial distribution of arable land sho wed a continuous decreasing trend,and the decreasing areas were mainly around large and medium-sized towns and near water lakes.The number of water areas shows a trend of firs t increasing,then stabilizing and then increasing again,with the increasing areas mainly dis tributed around the original reservoirs and lakes,etc.;the spatial distribution of forest land and grassland is basically stable,with a small area of spatial pattern evolution.(3)Analysis of the contribution of land use expansion factors based on the PLUS mod el,the evolution of the spatial pattern of national land is the result of the combined effect o f natural conditions,the level of economic and social development and national policies.T he main influencing factors for the change of construction land are roads,elevation and the location of the government station;the main influencing factor for the change of arable lan d is roads;the main influencing factor for the change of watershed is roads;the main influe ncing factor for the change of forest land and grassland is elevation.(4)Coupling water security evaluation,agricultural production security evaluation an d ecological security pattern to construct a comprehensive spatial security pattern of the nat ional land along Huaihuai in Anhui.The comprehensive water security pattern is constructe d from three factors: river and lake systems,surface water sources and rainflood inundation areas;land resources evaluation,agricultural water resources evaluation,replanting index evaluation and disaster evaluation are carried out to evaluate the single suitability of agricu ltural production,and an integrated evaluation of the suitability of agricultural production i s carried out to delineate the suitable space for agricultural production in three levels: high,medium and low.Based on the mainstream paradigm of "source identification-resistance surface construction-pattern construction",the spatial pattern of ecological security was f ormed.In accordance with the principles of equal-weight overlay and two-two-high,water security evaluation,agricultural security evaluation and ecological security pattern evaluati on are overlaid to build three comprehensive security patterns of land space: "low-mediu m-high".Ultimately,this will facilitate the government to effectively regulate the regional characteristics of different areas.(6)Adhere to the problem-oriented approach,focusing on the combination and matchi ng of the elements of "human-water-land-life" in the constraint of high-quality developmen t,from the optimisation of ecological security patterns,such as strengthening control of so urce lands,building ecological corridors and other measures.The study also proposes the o ptimization of the overall spatial pattern,such as the optimization of ecological spatial patt ern,agricultural spatial pattern and urban spatial pattern;and the optimization of the spatial security pattern of the national territory,such as the construction of synergistic control me chanisms,the strengthening of institutional reform and the strengthening of the planning an d implementation system.The findings of the study enrich the research results on territorial spatial security patte rns in watershed areas,provide new theoretical support for the sustainable use of territorial space,and further strengthen the theoretical research on territorial spatial optimization in w atershed spaces.It has important practical significance for the preparation of territorial spat ial planning in other regions,the effective implementation of regional policies and the dem
