problems of environmental pollution,low product added value,industrial transformation and upgrading,achieve high quality development was forced by the situation.In this paper,through theoretical analysis,literature research,case analysis,longitudinal research approaches such as comparative study,the market failure theory,new public management theory,new public service theory as the main basis,first discuss the government need to promote the development of coking industry to realize high quality,not only can make up the inherent defects of market,maintain the market order,It can also provide public goods and services needed for high-quality industrial development and effectively realize the macro-control role of the government.Then,the paper analyzes in detail the status quo of the role of the government in promoting the development of coking industry in Shanxi Province,summarizes the role of the government in promoting the development of the industry and has been
