Based on the accounting method recommended by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change(IPCC),this paper estimates the carbon emission intensity data of thermal power industry in 30 provinces and municipalities from 2007 to 2016.Firstly,the development of carbon emission, economy and science and technology of thermal power industry in the central,Eastern and western regions of China are analyzed, and the differences among regions are preliminarily verified by using the idea of nonparametric statistical test. Then, spatial exploratory analysis method is used to analyze the spatial and temporal distribution characteristics and spatial differences of carbon emission intensity of provincial thermal power industry. Finally, with the help of the spatial econometric model based on panel data, this paper studies the deep-seated causes of the differences in carbon emission intensity of the provincial thermal power industry, and decomposes the spatial effects of the main influencing factors1.The results of Kruskal Wallis test and Wilcoxon test show that the carbon emission intensity and per capita GDP of Eastern,Western and central China have an obvious upward trend during 2007-2016,and the data of the three regions have statistically significant differences, which indicates that there are not only regional differences in economy, urbanization rate and secondary industry output value among different regions, the value of carbon emission intensity of thermal power sector is also related to its geographical location, which needs to be further explored.2.From 2007 to 2016,there was a significant global spatial correlation in the carbon emissions intensity of thermal power departments in 30 provinces and municipalities in China, and the local spatial autocorrelation has also been increasing year by year. Most of them are mainly low-low aggregation and high-high aggregation, showing significant positive spatial correlation and spatial agglomeration pattern distribution are related to the economic development level of each region.3.China’s provincial thermal power carbon emissions have obvious spatial agglomeration characteristics, and regional differences are shrinking during the study period. From an innovation-driven perspective, the impact of patent grants and foreign direct investment on carbon emissions intensity is negative, indicating that innovation has a low-carbon development nature.GDP has a significant negative impact on carbon intensity, the urbanization rate and population density have a significant positive impact on carbon intensity, and the educational level of the employed population has no significant effect. In terms of space spillovers,it is necessary to strengthen high-quality economic development and achieve economic growth based on the low-carbon principle, control spillover effects of energy consumption;expand the indirect impact of foreign direct investment and entrepreneurial indicators, fully implement urbanization development, let local government implements a talent plan to achieve a reasonable distribution of talent.
