| China’s economic development has made important achievements since the reform and opening up,and the resulting energy and environmental problems can not be ignored.In the face of the dual pressure of environmental pollution and energy depletion in today’s world,to achieve the goal of energy conservation,improving energy efficiency has become an important way.The academic research on energy efficiency has gradually shifted from the national and provincial perspectives to the micro-perspectives of enterprises.Meanwhile,the influence of regional characteristics and enterprise characteristics on energy efficiency has been investigated.The research on energy efficiency from the perspective of enterprises can also further solve the practical problem that "China’s micro technology catches up with it,but the overall energy efficiency still lags behind".Therefore,the research on energy efficiency of enterprises may be the key to the improvement of energy efficiency in China.In this context,this paper reviews the literature on energy efficiency of enterprises in recent years.Based on Resource-Based View and the core competition theory,this paper puts forward the research topic of the influence of internal capabilities of enterprises on energy efficiency.This paper elaborates on the concept and components of enterprise capability,and points out that enterprise capability includes three major competencies:manufacturing ability at material level,innovation ability at human level and management ability at organizational level.To explore internal enterprise after three ability influence on energy efficiency,and construct the econometric model,through matching the industrial enterprise database and green development database,ultimately selected the 1001 companies in 2000-2009 data samples,the empirical test,and further the firm size,industry type,regional types of heterogeneity analysis.The results show that:(1)The enterprises capability has a significant impact on the improvement of energy efficiency.Among them,the innovation ability at the human level has the greatest impact on energy saving,followed by the management ability at the organizational level,and finally the production ability at the material level.(2)At the enterprise level,both the enterprise size and the form of enterprise ownership have a significant impact on the energy efficiency of the enterprise;At the regional level,the level of regional economic development and the degree of industrial agglomeration significantly affect the energy efficiency of enterprises.(3)There are significant differences in the energy saving effect of internal capabilities among heterogeneous enterprises.With the increase of enterprise scale,the energy-saving effect of enterprise’s management ability and innovation ability gradually replaces the energy-saving effect of manufacturing ability;in non-state-owned companies,the innovation ability and manufacturing ability have better energy-saving effect than state-owned enterprises;in state-owned companies,the management ability has better energy-saving effect than non-state-owned enterprises.(4)There are significant differences in the energy saving effect of internal capabilities among heterogeneous industries.Compared with other factor intensive industries,technology intensive industries have better energy-saving effect on the whole;the management ability,innovation ability and manufacturing ability of enterprises in low energy consumption industries have great effects on improving energy efficiency,while only innovation ability of enterprises in high energy consumption industries has significant energy-saving effect.(5)There are significant differences in the energy saving effect of internal capabilities among heterogeneous regions.In the eastern region,manufacturing ability,management ability and innovation ability have significant energy-saving effect;in the central region,only innovation ability has a significant positive impact on the improvement of energy efficiency.Finally,according to the results of the empirical test,the paper comes up with some suggestions,how to promote the development of energy-saving effect of internal capabilities from the following aspects: strengthening the supervision and management of energy-saving effect of internal capabilities,considering the management of energy-saving effect of internal capabilities from enterprise heterogeneity,considering the management of energy-saving effect of internal capabilities industry heterogeneity,and considering the management of energy-saving effect of internal capabilities from regional heterogeneity The management of energy-saving effect of enterprise internal capacity is considered the energy efficiency. |
