Research On Problems And Countermeasures Of Public Participation In Environmental Governance

Since the reform and opening up,China’s economy has developed rapidly,following with environmental pollution.The environmental situation is still serious,and major environmental pollution incidents occur from time to time.It is clear that relying solely on the government to protect the ecological environment affairs cannot be done.We need to pool social forces and explore new ways of environmental governance.Public participation means that each subject can play its role in promoting national economic development and other social affairs in a specific way in accordance with the law.Environmental governance is to study and solve environmental problems.It is of great theoretical and practical significance to research on the ways and countermeasures of public participation in environmental governance.This paper reviews the domestic and foreign studies,and sorts out the ways of public participation in environmental governance,the theory of co-governance,and so on.It introduces the logic of public participation from various subjects,and finds out the problems existing in public participation in environmental governance from the actual cases,questionnaires and interviews of C city.First,less initiative and public participation awareness needs to be improved.Second,less maneuverability and participation mechanism to be improved.Third,the lack of diversity and the need to improve the way of participation.Fourth,the role is not well played and safeguards need to be updated.Then,it also analyzes the causes of the problems and tries to get the countermeasures research of the public’s participation in environmental governance.First,we will refine the public participation system.Second,pay attention to cultivate the public participation in environmental consciousness.Third,expand the way of public participation.Fourth,strengthen organizational guarantee.
