Evaluation Of Economic And Environmental Effects Of Eco-industrial Parks In China

Industrial industry is an important pillar industry of China’s national economy.Since its reform and opening up,it has played a vital role in the rapid development and stability of China’s economy.However,the current environmental problem has become a global problem,and industrial pollution and environmental damage are becoming more and more serious.As China’s second largest economy in the world,environmental pollution problems also plague us.The transformation and upgrading of the industrial industry is imminent.Changing the way of economic development and taking the road of sustainable development has become the consensus of the whole world and the whole society.China established its first eco-industrial park in 2001 and has a history of more than ten years in 2016.In the period of rapid economic development in China,the eco-industrial park is an important industrial economic transformation measure.Its original purpose was to promote economic development and reduce environmental pollution.Therefore,in the process of transforming the mode of economic growth and promoting high-quality socio-economic development,it is of strong theoretical and practical significance to evaluate the economic and environmental effects of eco-industrial parks.This article first theoretically analyzes the background and necessity of establishing an eco-industrial park,and uses economic growth theory,sustainable development theory,and circular economy theory to specifically analyze the economic and environmental impact of the establishment of an eco-industrial park.Secondly,this paper uses the double difference method(DID)to construct a two-way fixed effect model.Using the macroeconomic data of 281 prefecture-level cities in China from 2003 to 2015,a systematic and comprehensive demonstration of the economic and environmental effects of China’s national eco-industrial parks is made.test.The results show that after controlling other influencing factors,the economic and environmental effects of the eco-industrial park are significant.In terms of economic effects,the establishment of eco-industrial parks has increased regional GDP by 2 percentage points,and per capita GDP has increased by 6percentage points,which has a positive role in promoting regional economic development.In terms of environmental effects,cities that establish eco-industrial parks have SO2 emissions.The amount can be reduced by 5 percentage points,indicating that the establishment of an eco-industrial park has the effect of reducing environmental pollution.In general,the eco-industrial park has realized its original purpose of establishing in China-to promote economic development and reduce environmental pollution,but it still needs further development and improvement to truly play its biggest role in order to further promote the "win-win" of the economy and the environment.
