| The rapid development of China’s economy has inevitably caused environmental pollution and energy loss.In order to reverse this situation and solve the contradiction between China’s socio-economic development and ecological environment,it is necessary to take the road of ecological civilization in line with China’s national conditions and realize the green development of the economy.According to the goal of green economic development,the green transformation of industry is one of the main ways to build ecological civilization,and the establishment of eco-industrial parks is an important means to realize the green transformation of industry.Based on this background,putting eco-industrial parks and green economic growth in the same analytical framework and exploring the influence of the establishment of eco-industrial parks on green economic growth from different aspects is of great significance to promote the optimization and upgrading of industrial structure and improve China’s green economic growth.At the stage when China’s economy enters into high-quality development,it is urgent to further discuss in what way the establishment of eco-industrial parks contributes to the green economic growth of cities,and whether it promotes the green transformation of Chinese industry,coordinates economic development with environmental protection and achieves high-quality development.On the basis of combing and summarizing the domestic and foreign literature,this paper uses panel data of 263 prefecture-level cities in China from 2006 to 2019 as the research sample,and thoroughly explores the impact of the establishment of eco-industrial parks on green economic growth and its mechanism of action: first,it innovatively includes eco-industrial parks and green economic growth into the same framework for research,and systematically analyzes the relationship between eco-industrial parks and Second,based on the double difference method,we empirically test the effect of the establishment of eco-industrial parks on green economic growth and analyze the heterogeneity from the perspective of geographical location;Third,this paper systematically tests the robustness of the benchmark regression results by means of propensity score matching method,placebo test based on Bootstrap algorithm and counterfactual test,etc.In addition,an intermediate mechanism test is conducted based on the two paths of technological innovation and industrial agglomeration;fourth,the research findings are summarized and a series of targeted recommendations are put forward.This paper finds that:(1)the establishment of eco-industrial parks plays an important role in improving green economic growth;(2)there are significant differences in the impact of the establishment of eco-industrial parks on green economic growth in different regions and different urban clusters;(3)the establishment of eco-industrial parks can influence green economic growth by improving technological innovation capacity,inhibiting manufacturing agglomeration and promoting productive service agglomeration.(3)The establishment of eco-industrial parks can influence green economic growth by improving technological innovation capacity,suppressing manufacturing agglomeration and promoting productive service agglomeration.Compared with the existing studies,there are two possible innovations in this paper:first,this paper selects 263 prefecture-level cities in China as research objects,which expands the scope of research and improves the practicality and reliability of research findings on green economic growth;second,most of the literature on eco-industrial parks is based on qualitative analysis,and there is a lack of empirical analysis combining eco-industrial parks and green economic growth.Secondly,most of the literature on eco-industrial parks is based on qualitative analysis and lacks empirical analysis combining eco-industrial parks and green economic growth.From the perspective of research importance,the research of this paper can help local governments to formulate relevant development strategies according to local conditions,respond to the national call for ecological civilization construction and green innovation development,promote the optimization and upgrading of industrial structure,actively develop green industries,and promote the improvement of green economy of each city and even the country as a whole. |
