While the environmental policy in China are gradually focusing on energy saving,emission reduction,low-carbon dioxide.Green energy is gradually changing from advocation and encouraging to rewarding and even mandatory.Vigorous development of green building area in the domestic market provides consulting companies with a chance of life-time opportunity to develop their business channels.Green building consulting is spring up like mushroom growth after raining,its business prospects should be extremely broad.However,the technical requirements of green consulting industry and the difficulty of innovation are increasing.The competition in the consulting service market becomes fiercer.Such serious competitive environment makes many companies facing bankrupt.Market uncertainties and challenges also increase,and more companies are forced to transform.S company is a Beijing state-owned construction enterprise group wholly-owned subsidiary.Subordinate to the emerging sectors in energy conservation and environmental protection plate.Focusing on green and low carbon consulting business.In order to adapt to rapidly changing market environment,enhance business competitive advantage,and maintain the leadership of green consulting business even led the transform and upgrade the parent company.S company should establish and working on suitable competition strategy.The research target of this paper is S company.Based on theory of competitive strategy,PEST model,Porter’s five forces model,value chain analysis and benchmarking analysis,this paper discusses the present situation,external environment and internal resources of S company.Based on the SWOT model,this paper determines the competition strategy,especially the focus strategy,adopted by S company.Finally,this paper briefly describes the way of strategy implementation,and evaluates the effectiveness of strategy.The analysis process and research results of this paper have significant implication for the development of engineering consulting business and green consulting business.First,the research result of this paper can be directly applied to the management of S company.Second,this paper provides implications for the competitive strategy formulation of consulting firm.Finally,this paper provides references for the sustainable development of consulting business.
