The economic growth of China’s dairy farming industry mainly depends on the large inputs of resources and labor,the production efficiency is low,and a large number of greenhouse gas emissions are generated during the breeding process.Increasing carbon emissions from dairy farming will aggravate global warming,leading to problems such as reduced performance of livestock and poultry and increased natural disasters in agriculture,threatening farmers’ economic income and people’s living standards.The key to this problem lies in the high-input,high-output,high-emission economic development of dairy farming.The transformation from extensive growth to an intensive development model with improved production efficiency and environmental friendliness can achieve a coordinated development between increasing the production efficiency of dairy farming and reducing environmental pollution.The "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" proposes that China’s carbon emission intensity should be reduced by 18% during the five-year period.Therefore,for the healthy and stable development of the dairy farming industry,it is necessary to improve the environmental production efficiency while promoting the economic development of the dairy farming industry,and green total factor productivity is an indicator for measuring the environmental production efficiency.This paper studies the growth source,space-time difference and growth factors of the green total factor productivity of China’s dairy farming industry,which is the basis for achieving harmonious progress of economic growth and ecological environment of our dairy farming industry.This study can provide theoretical guidance for the development of the low-carbon dairy farming industry in the country,and has important practical significance for achieving the dual development of green total factor productivity and economic growth of the national dairy farming industry.This study is based on theories of economic growth,low-carbon economics,and cutting-edge production.It uses literature analysis,comparative analysis,and empirical analysis to analyze the green total factor productivity and its influencing factors of dairy farming.First,on the basis of estimating the carbon emissions from dairy farming in the country from 2001 to 2017,the total carbon emissions,carbon emission structure,and carbon intensity of the dairy farming industry in the country and provinces were analyzed.Second,in terms of the directional distance function,based on the GML productivity index,the green total factor productivity of the dairy farming industry in China from 2007 to 2017 was calculated on the basis of this,and it was decomposed into technical efficiency and technological progress.From the time and regional perspective,the total factor productivity of the dairy farming industry without carbon emission constraints was considered and make a comparative analysis;Again,use the panel GLS model to explore the influencing factors of green total factor productivity in dairy farming;Finally,based on the above empirical analysis results,put forward effective measures to improve the level of green total factor productivity in dairy farming in the country.The research results show that the changes in the total carbon emissions of the dairy farming industry in the country from 2001 to 2017 show the characteristics of "inverted U-shape" of " fast growth to slow growth to rapid decline to slow decline ";The provincial-level differences in carbon emissions of dairy farming industry are obvious and present significant agglomeration characteristics;From 2007 to 2017,the green total factor productivity of the dairy farming industry showed volatile growth.The main source of its growth came from technological progress,and the technical efficiency was deteriorating;Whether the size of total factor productivity of dairy farming industry considering carbon emissions constraints,the relationship is different in different provinces and regions.The total factor productivity of dairy farming in the central,eastern and western regions shows a declining trend in turn.;The five factors,such as the scale of farming,industrial structure,level of farming technology,urbanization process,and environmental regulations,affect the country and the three major areas of dairy cow farming industry green total factor production have different impacts.Accordingly,corresponding countermeasures and suggestions are proposed,including improving the technical system of the dairy farming industry,optimizing the layout of the dairy farming industry,accelerating technological innovation in the dairy farming industry,and strengthening environmental regulations in the dairy farming industry. |
