In the period of transition between the late Qing dynasty and the republic of China,Western powers took advantage of China's poor and weak and coveted the oil resources of China's Xinjiang region,especially Russian Empire.the elites think that the government should pay attention to the frontier,develop industry and resist aggression and self-improvement.The oil field of Dushanzi District was rightly developed in the circumstances of national crisis,closely related to the destination of the nation since the very beginning and deeply influenced by national power and international environment.Impact factors were various in regard to the development of petroleum industry in Dushanzi District,while the majority were international relations,especially the rise and fall of that between China and Russia,which had dominant effect on it.Dushanzi oil industry was built in the period of Sheng Shicai's anti-emperor and pro-soviet,it leaves when the Sheng and Soviet turn against each other.With the establishment of the Sino-Soviet alliance and the signing of the Sino-Soviet treaty of friendship,alliance and mutual assistance,Dushanzi oil field flourished again.The development of petroleum industry in Dushanzi District was directly affected by the relations of China and Russia in a quite long time,so deeply that it could even be seen as a mirror of the two countries' relationship.The Dushanzi oil industry rose and fell with the ups and downs of sino-soviet relations,and also grow with the growth of new China's national strength.
