The modern period is a special period in Chinese history,which is a transitional period from feudal society to modern society.During this period,all aspects of society have undergone great changes,and clothing is no exception.Jacket is a kind of traditional garment which is widely worn by people in modern times.In the past,scholars mostly focused on the style,appearance,technology and other aspects of modern jacket,but there is a lack of research on the material characteristics of modern folk jacket.This paper makes a detailed study on the material materials and pictures of the coats and coats collected in the folk clothing Museum of Jiangnan University and the National Costume Museum of Beijing Institute of fashion.The research methods include literature retrieval,material research,comprehensive analysis and classification statistics.The main content is mainly divided into three parts.At first,this paper discusses the background of the times in which the research object is located,and discusses the influence of modern politics,economy and culture on modern textile industry and folk clothing materials,and expounds the noun explanation and shape change of modern coat.Secondly,based on some existing material materials of modern coats and coats,this paper analyzes some representative samples of modern folk men's and women's coats and coats,and finally summarizes the texture,color,pattern and accessories of these materials by classification and induction.In terms of texture,the modern folk men's and women's coats and coats are mainly silk fabrics,especially jacquard fabrics,and there are also cotton,linen,wool and fur.Due to the development of modern textile industry,many new fabrics have emerged;in terms of color,women's coats and coats are more colorful than men's coats;the patterns of clothing materials of modern folk men's and women's coats and coats have the characteristics of eclecticism and integration between the East and the west,especially in the early modern times In the later period,the style and theme of Chinese traditional patterns were more influenced by the West;the accessories for men's and women's coats and coats were tapestry and disc buttons(buttons).Finally,based on the research results,uses two kinds of fabrics commonly used in modern times combined with other design elements to design two series of women's wear,and explores the fashion generated by the combination of traditional fabrics or traditional clothing elements and other modern materials.People's clothing in modern times is very special.There are both traditional clothing and Western clothing.Chinese and Western clothing are mixed.The influence of Western clothing style and structure on traditional clothing is also imperceptibly changing.The fabric is the physical support of clothing.By studying the characteristics of modern folk men's and women's coats and coats,we can understand the characteristics of people's clothing at that time It is also of great significance to study the history of modern clothing and explore the value of traditional fabrics in modern fashion design.
