Contemporary Innovative Design Of Folk Costume Elements In Central And Southern Hebei In Modern Times

Chinese traditional culture is profound and has a long history.It is a high condensation of Chinese excellent cultural character formed by all ethnic groups in the process of development.The rich and diverse regional culture is an important part of Chinese traditional culture.In the historical process,it has gradually formed its own unique folk life and clothing.As an important expression and bearing medium of traditional culture,regional costume culture contains the unique spiritual temperament,mindset,aesthetic psychology and other aspects of the region.The central and southern Hebei region is profound in history and culture,with distinct regional characteristics,forming a production and lifestyle based on agricultural civilization.Its clothing culture is an expression of historical memory and emotional appeal formed in a specific environment.Clothing appearance also reflects the profound characteristics of farming culture.It has been inherited and developed in social life,showing the characteristics of simple folk customs and convergent development.Since modern times,under the influence of foreign culture,great changes have taken place in social politics,economy and culture.As an important carrier of social development and evolution,clothing shows the phenomenon of Chinese and Western hybridity.It is of great significance to construct the regional cultural symbol system and enhance the regional cultural influence by taking the typical regional culture of folk costumes in modern central and southern Hebei as the cultural media of symbols.However,at present,there is no systematic review of folk costumes in central and southern Hebei.This topic attempts to sort out the appearance characteristics of folk costumes from the social and historical transformation situation since modern times,then further attempts to summarize and refine from the traditional folk costume culture genes,aiming to make costume innovation and transformation.In this paper,multiple reference method,field investigation method,design practice method are employed to collect samples in the field,and inductive analysis is carried out to present the traditional thoughts and aesthetic concepts existing in the folk costumes of modern central and southern Hebei in a symbolic way.Popular and representative elements are selected for innovative transformation to complete a series of garment design and production.The analysis basically shows two aspects.On one hand,due to the same geographical and natural environment,the social and cultural characteristics of modern central and southern Hebei are very similar.The vast rural areas are mainly dressed according to traditional customs,and the overall clothing is simple and practical.The selection of clothing materials and the design of craft decoration vary with individual economic conditions and customs.At the same time,influenced by foreign culture,the development of clothing styles is characterized by slow westernization.These are the folk costumes in the central and southern Hebei region in modern times.While conforming to the development trend of Chinese costumes,they also retain their own unique regional style characteristics.On the other hand,based on the typical elements of folk costumes in central and southern Hebei in modern times,combined with modern fashion,an innovative transformation design was carried out.In the process of creative practice,the induction and extraction of folk costume elements,the general public has empathy recognition,and easy to accept cultural symbols,and combined with its typical traditional costume style,color elements and other exploratory innovation performance,with traditional aesthetic perspective combined with modern design language for a new interpretation.The series of ready-to-wear design works have important practical significance for conveying the innovative design intention of contemporary clothing,realizing the contemporary transformation of traditional folk clothing cultural elements,and inheriting,protecting and innovating traditional clothing culture.
