Research On Folk Dress Culture Of Guanzhong Area In Modern Times

This paper is based on the topic named <Research on traditional folk dressculture in Shanxi province>, aim to grasp and arrange the folk dress culture and itsdevelopment in Guanzhong area. Focus on the influence of Guanzhong folk art andfolk customs to the folk dress, sum up the dress characteristic from multiple aspects,and research the Guanzhong folk dress culture combing with the modern fashiondesign ideas.Though the characteristic of folk dress in the central Shaanxi plain is not sodistinct as clothes in Northern Shaanxi region which are affected by Loess plateauculture, it has a profound background of history and culture, the evolution process ofits folk dress s characteristic is the the mutual product of the transformation ofsociety institution, national culture features, and the situation of economicdevelopment, at the same time, it also shows that people look for truth, kindness andbeauty in life no matter the different social forms. From early modern period,traditional folk arts and crafts, custom have already erased from people s daily lifegradually. As the design, fabric and color of the folk dress with its intensely countryfeature can t keep up with the newest fashions, it has been abandoned by modernpeople. So it s extremely urgent to study the folk culture and folk costume culture in thecentral Shaanxi plain to protect tradition better.Research timing scope was in modern times, began from various aspects todeeply analyze the Guanzhong folk dress culture: firstly, the Guanzhong naturalconditions and human factors which decided the folk dress features were discussed,from people s character, the traditional local-style dwelling houses living style andthe traditional costumes aesthetic to analyze the influence factors for development.Secondly, visit the old folk villages, museums and so on in Guanzhong area, andinterview the folk artists, in order to search valuable material clues for the study.Deeply study the relations between the dress culture and the folk handicrafts such asMaShao Facebook, wood engravings and farmer paints in Huxian, analyze thepaper-cut, folk embroidery and folk weaving, to reflect their importance in the making process of the folk dress; through particular folk customs as GuanzhongStrange things Top Ten, traditional marriage customs, this paper researched the folkdress culture with their characteristics as case analysis. Thirdly, from the angle ofmodern fashion design, the Guanzhong folk dress characteristics such as simplexcolor, rich patterns, simple styles and loose modeling were studied. At last, combinedwith the modern design idea and the current popular trend, joined the folk dresselements and the modern dress design together, showed the useful value of folk dressculture in this area. The article mostly used photos to illustrate the dresscharacteristic.The study would bring more attention to the folk dress culture in Guanzhongarea and help to promote the traditional folk dress culture meanwhile connect withmodern concept. It also help the traditional things create new fashion, so as to getbetter protection and inheritance.
