Under the "Belt and Road" initiative, the economic level and infrastructure construction of the countries along the route are accelerating, and there is huge room for development in the cooperation of steel production capacity between China and the countries along the route. However, international cooperation in capacity is affected by many factors during the promotion process, and the expected cooperation has not been achieved. Therefore, specific and in-depth research should be conducted on the cooperation environment of the countries along the route, especially the logistics environment.Development proposals to develop higher and deeper capacity cooperation.Through combing the relevant literature in this field,it is found that most of the literature can confirm that the level of logistics development has a very important impact on the development of international production capacity cooperation. But most of the literature is to study the impact of some domestic logistics on international trade, and few scholars have analyzed the economic mechanism of the impact process. Therefore, this article uses a combination of theory and empirical methods to analyze the impact of logistics development on international production capacity cooperation.Theoretically, the improved middleman model is used to prove the continuous deepening of the logistics industry’s division of labor from the perspective of division of labor and cooperation, which leads to the continuous reduction of logistics efficiency and the cost of production capacity cooperation. Then conduct an empirical test, first use the existing data to objectively analyze the current status of China’s steel production capacity cooperation with countries along the route and the logistics performance levels of various countries, and then select 56 countries and regions along the "Belt and Road" logistics performance index and its sub-indices,Using the expanded trade gravity model to conduct an empirical analysis of the entire sample countries along the route and countries along different routes,to study the impact of its logistics performance level on steel production capacity cooperation. In addition, the expansion gravity model expands the distance factor to include institutional, cultural, and geographic Multidimensional dynamic distance. The study found that the overall logistics performance of the countries along the route and their sub-indicators have a significant positive impact on steel capacity cooperation, and the cargo traceability and customs efficiency in the sub-indicators of the logistics performance index have the greatest impact on steel capacity cooperation. However, the empirical results of the sub-lines show that the logistics performance index and its subindicators have inconsistent conclusions on the impact of China’s production capacity cooperation. The logistics performance levels of the northern and southern countries have a positive and significant impact on the steel production capacity cooperation, while the middle-tier countries The impact is not significant.Among the other factors that affect the cooperation in steel production capacity, institutional distance, cultural distance, and geographic distance all have an inhibitory effect on international production capacity cooperation, but the inhibitory effect of geographic distance is constantly weakening. Finally, based on the results of theoretical and empirical analysis, suggestions are made to improve the level of international logistics and promote cooperation in international production capacity.
