The Application Of Pop Art In Jewelry

In the modern world,jewelry has been increasingly regarded as an indispensable object for showing personal styles.Along with more people buying jewelry,more people are focusing on the design of jewelry.As a result,it is not unusual that people wear jewelry with overly expressive styles.Therefore,the author think Pop Art has much potential in jewelry design.The Pop Art is a popular art from taking off in the mid 20 th century,with its unique style.Because it changed people's opinion of art,ordinary people could become creators of art.The phenomenon exists apparently in the current time,a internet-based business time,causing an interaction between people's mind and development of art.People are creating art,and art are leading people's aesthetic.Since the time of the birth of Pop Art,it has been a half of century.By far the Pop Art is still one of the most prominent styles.Not only do the Pop artists bring visual impact to people,but also give foundations to modern art.Besides the contributions about art,Pop Art's special art techniques and unique exaggerate styles are influencing modern design field,providing ideas for designing and thoughts for exploring.And for Pop art itself,its collective creativity trait fits fashion trend in modern design very much.In today,a time people chase their uniqueness and personality,jewelry with Pop Art style is popular for jewelry fans.Exaggerate art styles make one shine up for others.Moreover make one unique among people the styles.So,deep analysis for the application of Pop Art in jewelry design,not only brings new blood into modern jewelry design,also extends the design field of Pop Art.This dissertation consists of six parts.The first part simply introduces the origin and development of Pop Art.By works of famous Pop artists,the second part analyzes the Pop Art works about four characters: elements,colors,composition,and collage.The third part focuses on analyzing the influence Pop art brings to many other fields,like packaging design,fashion design,and building design.The fourth part gives an explanation of the definition of the collective creativity,which is a unique property in Pop Art,and gives an analysis of many cases.Through the theoretical research in first several chapters,from the fourth chapter,we begin to analyze the collective creativity property of Pop Art.In chapter 5,the Pop Art and jewelry,we do the case analysis for commercial and artistic jewelry design respectively,and then we extra elements as results for demonstrating the influence Pop Art brings to jewelry.The chapter 6 is my own design,with the generation of opinions,investigation,sketches and the final composition rendering,giving by a whole presentation.And associated with the commercial property of Pop Art,we do design for peripheral products.
