The Design Of Dormitory Beds In Colleges And Universities Based On Space Optimization

China has entered a period of high-quality development and our universities are working tirelessly to build world-class universities,while at the same time,people's demands for living standards are getting higher and higher.However,the current space planning and facilities in university dormitories are relatively rudimentary and problematic compared to those in developed countries and are no longer suitable for the current situation in our universities and the needs of our students today.As the largest and most functional piece of furniture in a dormitory,the beds carry most of the needs of the dormitory users and take up a large amount of space in the dormitory.The dormitory bed design scheme in this paper is guided by the concept of space optimization,starting with the beds in the dormitory and carried out with the needs of the users in mind.It can effectively solve the problems of crowded dormitory space,insufficient storage space,and irrational functions of bed furniture while guaranteeing the privacy and safety of users and providing people with a new aesthetic feeling in a new form.It breaks the original design thinking of dormitory beds and creatively introduces new methods of space optimization,giving new ideas and new forms of the dormitory bed design.This paper breaks away from the simple design of dormitory beds by simply piling up functional furniture.Using a large number of case studies,researching the needs of a great number of users,and obtaining a significant amount of concrete data,it considers the history of the development of ancient and modern dormitory beds and the current mainstream form of dormitory beds,as well as the use of the concept of space optimization in terms of function,material,and shape of furniture in a small household space.The paper takes the concept of spatial optimization as a guideline for the design of beds in university dormitories,combining the needs of users and the main criteria of the present day to make the beds in university dormitories as rational and innovative as possible in terms of shape,style,and combination of components.Through the design of beds in university dormitories,we aim to transform the needs of university students for rational space and privacy in dormitories into products that are suitable for the current situation in China and students,guiding people in their pursuit of high quality,rational and comfortable living spaces and leading society to focus more on the problems of small interior spaces.
