Sun Yueqi And Sino-Fu Company During The Anti-japanese War

Sun Yueqi(1983-1995)was formerly known as Sun Yuqi.He was born in Tongkang Village,Pingjiang Town,Shaoxing County,Zhejiang Province.He was a great patriotic industrialist in China.Not only was he the leader of industry and mining in modern China,but he was also one of the founders of the Chinese energy industry.He was known as "King of Coal and Soil".He served as the general manager of the joint office of Zhongfu Company.The company was relocated southwards under his leadership during the Anti Japanese War.The coal industry was established in Southwest China to promote the development of the local coal industry and make great contribution to energy construction during the Chinese Anti Japanese war.Zhongfu Company was an important coal company in modern China.At first,it was established by the British people in Jiaozuo City,Henan Province.Later,it formed Fuzhong General Company in cooperation with the local Zhongyuan company.However,due to the poor operation of the company and the rising anti imperialist sentiment of the Chinese people,it encountered great setbacks in the development of the company.As a result,it was unable to run normally.At the request of the British people,Chiang Kai Shek dispatched a sorting specialist called Sun Yueqi to solve the relevant problems during the period.A series of reform measures were adopted to solve the liquidation problem about Fuzhong General Company.Later,the joint office of Zhongfu Company was established in cooperation between Yingfu Company and Zhongyuan Company.Sun Yueqi served as the general manager.After the outbreak of the Chinese Anti Japanese War,a lot of industries of the eastern coastal area began to be relocated westwards.Under the leadership of Sun Yueqi,Zhongfu Company also began to be relocated westwards.In 1938,the machinery equipment of the company was shipped to Wuhan City first and then to Yichang City before October 1938.With the help of Minsheng Company,nearly one thousand tons of machinery equipment was transported to Chongqing City safely.Sun Yueqi transported all the machinery equipment of Zhongfu company.Not only did it protect the property of Zhongfu Company,but it also established partnerships with the local government.Zhongfu Company was was aimed to jointly developed five coal areas in cooperation with the Resource Committee,including Xiangtan Coal Mine,Tianfu Coal Mine,Weiyuan Coal Mine,Jiayang Coal Mine and Shiyan Coal Mine.The relocation process of Zhongfu Company was discussed as well as the relationship among the local force,Zhongfu Company,and national institutions represented by the Resource Committee.Due to the westward relocation,it protected production equipment,preserved strength for the,Chinese Anti Japanese War and guaranteed the energy supply during the Chinese Anti Japanese War.On the other hand,Zhongfu Company was transformed from the Sino-British joint venture to the bureaucratic capital through rectification and relocation.The specific measures taken by Sun Yueqi to rectify Zhongfu Company as well as the historical fact about the westward relocation of Zhongfu Company under the leadership of Sun Yueqi were described in the paper.It was showed that Zhongfu Company was further developed due to the westward relocation at the moment of the national crisis.It promoted the development of the Southwest Chinese coal industry and made great contribution to coal mining in China during the Chinese Anti Japanese War.The mining technology of Southwest China was relatively backward before the westward relocation of Zhongfu Company.It was mined in the Indigenous Method.Not only did the cooperation between Southwest China and Zhongfu Company improve the coal production efficiency,but it also improved the production system and the management method greatly.It promoted the development of the Southwest Chinese coal industry greatly.A new partnership was formed in the cooperation between Zhongfu Company and the local coal force.The means of production was taken as the stock by Zhongfu Company to establish a new company by the application of the machinery equipment and the cooperation between the Resource Committee and the Southwest Chinese coal industry.The economic cooperation between the local government and the Central government was strengthened in the process.The nature of the local coal industry was changed,the pace of nationalization of the local coal industry was accelerated and the strength of the Central government's control over the local economy was strengthened.It was conducive to the optimization of resource allocation.In this way,the Chinese coal industry was further developed.
