Modern architecture has not only changed the appearance of the city, but also brought a variety of environmental problems. In the design process, the architect adopts the strategy of making the building adapt to the climate, which can greatly reduce the resource consumption of the whole building, and also ensure that the energy consumption of operation and maintenance can be reduced in the subsequent use.The construction and construction of traditional houses in the Yangtze River Delta are supported by economic foundation,so the space strategy adopted is the most concerned about the comfort degree of residence. The construction mode naturally developed over the years is most in line with the local specific climate environment and residents' living habits. These green strategies themselves have the attributes of traditional context. The green space strategy of traditional residential buildings in the Yangtze River Delta is investigated and summarized, which can effectively guide the design of contemporary green buildings. So that the green building is not only using energy-saving consumables or simple technology stacking, but also showing a space form that takes into account the regional characteristics and green strategy. In this paper, first of all,the climate data of the Yangtze River Delta are summarized,so as to analyze the climate characteristics.Considering the particularity of the microclimate of the building, the second chapter also carries out a half year's measurement of the built environment, and analyzes the climate adaptability needs of the Yangtze River Delta. The third chapter is the basic research and simulation work for this study.By consulting the literature, the Yangtze River Delta is divided into small areas to ensure the comprehensiveness of research cases, and select cases from each area for research. In addition, the quantitative analysis of the building factors that affect the climate performance under the specific climate data of the Yangtze River Delta makes the spatial strategy extracted in the following paper more specific and scientific.Chapter four and chapter five respectively extract the excellent green space strategy of traditional houses in the Yangtze River Delta from the perspective of site group, monomer and enclosure structure, and standardize it according to the quantitative calculation results in chapter three,so as to facilitate its application in modern translation. The sixth chapter analyzes the strategies summarized in the previous paper with excellent modern architectural cases, which provides ideas and methods for modern translation of traditional spatial strategies.
