With the rapid economic development of the coastal areas of Minnan, the living standards of the people in the rural areas of Minnan have gradually improved, and the requirements of farmers for the quality of life and living environment have become higher and higher. At the same time, because of the contradiction between traditional houses and modern family production and life style, the traditional houses are gradually abandoned, and the convergent development of architectural culture appears, and the regional characteristics of Minnan houses are lost. However, most of the modern houses in Minnan rural areas lack reasonable architectural planning and indoor thermal environment design at the beginning of construction, which leads to the loss of the unique regional architectural culture of Minnan rural houses, but also makes the local residents live in an uncomfortable indoor environment. Therefore, from the point of view of optimizing the indoor thermal environment of rural houses in Minnan area and inheriting the excellent adaptive construction strategy of traditional stone-built houses in Minnan area, this paper deeply studies the indoor thermal environment of rural houses in Minnan area, and aims to put forward some optimization suggestions for the design and construction of new rural houses in Minnan area.Firstly, questionnaire survey and analysis were carried out to understand the indoor thermal comfort of Minnan residential buildings.Secondly, the indoor thermal environment parameters of Minnan typical rural residential buildings were measured and analyzed. Finally, according to the analysis of the climate adaptability of Minnan residential buildings, the climate adaptability passive design strategy of Minnan residential buildings was refined, which was divided into spatial layout, architectural form, architectural detail structure and behavior regulation, and the following conclusions were obtained by using Design Builder software to establish model optimization:Minnan folk houses should open windows all day from June to October, the rest of the time is not suitable for opening windows, the relative humidity of the outside windows in the afternoon is reduced, the rest of the time is not recommended to open windows;thespatial layout of the building should be 15° south to east, the local residential orientation is basically in this direction;the form of verandah should choose L type verandah,is a typical climate adaptation symbol of Minnan stone houses;the enclosure structure needs to be strengthened; In the outer window system,if the fixed shading measures are adopted, the horizontal shading is set in the east and west direction, and the south side is shaded by the outer corridor, and the north side does not need to be shaded. If the controllable sunshade measures are adopted, the south corridor is shaded, the east and west are shaded by controllable louvers, and the north is shaded by controllable sunshade. Finally, the optimal value of adaptive passive design strategy is used to obtain the optimal model, the number of comfortable hours in the whole year is 5252 h,the comfort time is 60.0%,which is 13.5%higher than the benchmark model.
