Insects of the family Latridiidae are mycetophagous beetle. They occur in allzoogeographical regions of the world. As beetles associated with stored products, they havean important economic significance. The thesis deals with taxonomy of the family Latridiidaefrom China. The research history of Latridiidae is reviewed both for China and worldwide.Their morphology, and the material and methods, as well as their geographical distribution areintroduced. In this thesis,10genera and42species are included, of which1species is new toscience and6species are newly reported from China. A checklist of world Latridiidae andkeys to all genera and species are given. The habitus photos of20species are provided andthe male genitalia are illustrated.New species and new Chinese records are as follows:Enicmus scrobescens sp. nov.Enicmus transversus (Olivier,1790) n. rec.Corticaria elongata (Gyllenhal,1827) n. rec.Corticaria pineti Lohse,1960n. rec.Corticaria pubescens (Gyllenhal,1827) n. rec.Corticaria serrata (Paykull,1798) n. rec.Melanophthalma taurica (Mannerheim,1844) n. rec.Examined specimens are deposited in the Northwest A&F University (NWAFU) andInstitute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IZAS).
