The family Galumnidae(Arachnida: Acari: Sarcoptiformes: Oribatida: Galumnoidea)has recorded 28 genera 15 subgenera and 603 species 29 subspecies in the world and 10 genera and 50 species(include 6 subspecies)in China. This thesis described 86 species(include 7 subspecies)in 12 genera of family Galumnidae in China, the morphological characteristics figures of 49 species were drawn and scanning electron microscope(SEM)pictures of 43 species were taken.Fauna analysis research of the family Galumnidae from China were carried, and the comparative morphological study were carried out on the family.Main results for this study are as follows:1.Taxonomy There were 86 species(include 7 subspecies)of 12 genera of family recorded including 2 Chinese new record genera,25 new species and 14 were listed in tables according to zoogeographic realms of the China and the world.A primary biogeography analysis is concluded.Species of family Galumnidae from China is a widely distributed group and covered each zoogeographic realms of the world and even Antarctica. In the zoogeographic realms of the world, the 12 genera of Galumnidae in China are mainly distributed in the Oriental and Palaearctic realms, constituted by 5 distribution types in cross-Oriental realm, with 11 genera in total, accounting for 91.67%,and constituted by 5 distribution types in cross-Palaearctic realm, with 9 genera in total, accounting for 75.00%.In the zoogeographic realms of the China, the genera of Galumnidae from China are mainly distributed in the Central and South China region, constituted by 7 distribution types in cross-Oriental realm, with 11 genera in total, accounting for 91.67%,only the genus Pilogalumna did not exist in Central China region, and constituted by 6 distribution types in crossPalaearctic realm, with 9 genera in total, accounting for 75.00%.The 86 species of family Galumnidae in China are mainly distributed in the Oriental and Palaearctic realms, constituted by 8 distribution types in cross-Oriental realm, with 78 species in total, accounting for 90.70%,and constituted by 6 distribution types in cross-Palaearctic realm, with 40 species in total, accounting for 46.51%,only 2–3 species in cross-others realm,No crosssix boundary faunal types were found. In the zoogeographic realms of the China, the 85 species of family Galumnidae in China are mainly distributed in the Central and South China region, constituted by 13 distribution types in cross-Oriental realm, with 53 species in total, accounting for 61.63%,and constituted by 10 distribution types in cross-Palaearctic realm, with 48 species in total, accounting for 55.81%.Southwest region,Northeast region,Qinghai-Tibet region and MongoliaXinjiang region decrease in turn.In conclusion, the Central and South China region of the Oriental realm of China are more conducive to the growth and breeding of family Galumnidae.3.Comparative morphological study In this study, comparative morphological studies were conducted on some features of family Galumnidae.Six morphological features of taxonomic significance of genera and 13 morphological features of taxonomic significance of species were selected, and some morphological differences of some features were visually compared by scanning electron microscopy(SEM).Morphological features of taxonomic significance of genera: lamellar line, sublamellar line, lamellar seta location, notogastral setae, notogastral porose areas and saccules.Lamellar seta lateral or medial to lamellar lines in genera Flagellozetes.Morphological features of taxonomic significance of species: rostrum, body size, body surface decoration, rostral seta, lamellar seta, interlamellar seta, bothridial seta, dorsosejugal suture, notogastral porose areas shape and quantity, median pore, genital setae, anal and adanal setae and postanal porose area.
