The development of rural tourism is an effective way to reduce poverty and increase income in poor mountainous areas in China.Scenic areas drive the developiment of villages is a model for helping rural tourism to alleviate poverty.Depending on the development of core scenic spots,a large number of tourists can be brought.A series of production and operation activities,such as working in scenic spots,providing supporting supply of agricultural and pastoral products,and sales of tourist commodities,will drive communities and farmers to increase their incomes.For farmers,in order to obtain the maximum tourism economic benefits,the effective method is to reduce operating costs and increase tourism income,that is,to ensure that the efficiency of farmers' participation in tourism production and management is effective,but from the research of domestic and foreign scholars,The evaluations are concentrated on agricultural and forestry production.In the field of tourism,scholars' evaluation of tourism efficiency has focused on macro-regions or tourism companies.However,with the development of tourism,farmers' livelihood changes from agricultural and forestry production to participation in tourism production and management.At present,few people have studied the economic efficiency of farmers' participation in tourism.Therefore,this article takes the Jinsixia Scenic Area as an example,and takes 18 kilometers of farmers along the tourist route of the scenic area as the research object to evaluate and analyze the economic efficiency of farmers' participation in tourism,and to explore the reasons affecting the economic efficiency in combination with the actual situation,so as to provide theoretical and data support for improving the economic efficiency of farmers' participation in tourism.This article first combed the domestic and foreign literature in related fields,put forward the theoretical basis and conceptual definitions,and then introduced the basic situation of the case,that is,the 18-kilometer farmers along the Jinsixia Scenic Spot and the scenic tourism,and then conducted field investigations to obtain 110 questionnaire.Next,useing a three-stage dea model to measure and analyze the economic efficiency of farmer households' participation in tourism,and explores the effects of environmental factors such as the age of the head of household,the level of education of family members,the distance of the houses used for tourism production from the Jinsixia scenic area,and the government financial subsidies on efficiency.Finally,Proposeing suggestions for improving the economic efficiency of farmers from three aspects: government,scenic spots and farmers.The research found that the participation of rural households in tourism around the scenic area depends on the tourist flow brought by the core scenic spot.The participation of rural households in tourism is closely related to the development of the scenic spot.The method of participating in tourism production and operation is single,mainly based on the operation of farmhouses;The overall economic efficiency of farmers' participation in tourism is relatively low,which is mainly affected by the inefficiency of scale;the age of the head of the household and the distance from the house to the scenic area have a significant negative impact on its input slack variables,the level of education of family members and the amount of government financial subsidies have a significant positive impact on their input slack variables;the economic efficiency of poor households participating in tourism is lower than the efficiency of non-poor households,the majority of peasant households with a single operation have a lower economic efficiency than the peasant households with a diversified operation.
