Abstract/Summary:
The purpose of this project is to manage network traffic across a Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) backbone cloud between two locations and to implement network security by applying enable, telnet, line console, vty and auxiliary port passwords. Mobility and cloud are reshaping the way people work. Today people are working from anywhere inside and outside the workplace using both private and public internet access, Wi-Fi and even mobile broadband [3]. Customers have the flexibility to opt for Multi-Protocol Label Switching-Virtual Private Network services internet connectivity from various service providers. Customers can provide internet connectivity directly from their network either from remote site or a central site depending on the requirement. Security is also an important concern for customers when they connect to public networks, therefore firewall deployment is necessary. In this project we aim to manage data traffic across a Multi-Protocol Label Switching backbone cloud between an office in Bangalore, India and two offices in California, United States of America. We will also set up a firewall and apply telnet and login passwords to it. Quality of Service is also applied on a particular part in the topology. The entire project will be simulated on network simulation platform GNS3 which is an emulation software.
