| The Yanbu Refinery Laboratory (YR Lab) is committed to providing quality analytical services for Saudi Aramco petroleum facilities in Yanbu. The laboratory analyzes crude oil, gasoline, diesel, kerosene, jet fuel, LPG, water, wastewater and environmental samples. This study examines the applicability of the ISO 17025 standard to the petroleum laboratory conducting in-house calibration and routine testing for refinery products. The laboratory information management system (LIMS) plays a pivotal role and falls inside the scope of the quality assurance program. It touches all aspects of the laboratory and plays a major role in sample lifecycle. The ultimate goal of the project is to provide a set of general guidelines for administering tests and calibration activities. Appendix A of this study is the quality assurance (QA) manual for the YR laboratory, established according to the international standard ISO/IEC 17025 General Requirements for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories . |
