| The purpose of this thesis was to develop an effective and useful methodology by which to plan and optimize local area network (LAN) by implementing wireless technology. The methodology, used as a design guide, will provide valuable information in establishing pertinent design criteria and formulating solutions in creating the optimum computer network system. The concept and information introduced in this thesis will provide the basis for the understanding and the appreciation wireless technology and its benefits.;Wireless LANs connect users within a building or local campus area using radio signals to transmit data, rather than wire. The freedom from conventional network connections can provide wireless LAN users with access to real-time information anywhere in their organization. The mobility along with ease of installation, maintenance, and reconfiguration flexibility, wireless networks support productivity and provide opportunities not possible with wired networks. |
