Military communication is an important part of the information war, and a key factor to control the initiative power in the battlefield. The appearance of the conception of the cognitive radio (CR) will lead the military communication to the intelligence, integration and incorporation, while the application of the wireless local area network (WLAN) technology will make the establishment of the battlefield sense network quickly, flexibly and reliably, and transmit the information of the battlefield at a high rate. Military communication technology will progress accompany with the development of CR and WLAN in future.On the base of the detailed analysis of WLAN and CR, combining the adaptive spectrum sensing technology in CR with the WLAN, we implement the identify of the communication opportunity in the wireless terminal and discuss the algorithm of the competitive utilize of the radio resource in this thesis. Meanwhile, OFDM has been discussed in detail in the thesis, and a base-band transmitting model of WLAN using OFDM has been given in MATLAB.In chapter 1, the background, history and actuality of the thesis are introduced. Then, we discuss the application of CR in the WLAN, point out the connection of the two in chapter 2. Simultaneously, we introduce the algorithm of the identify communication opportunity in the PHY of the WLAN, and give its implementing structure and design its key part in FPGA in chapter 3. In chapter 4, two algorithm of the competitive utilize of the radio resource has been discussed in detail. We also give their Marcov model in order to analysis the performance of MAC. Then, we establish a base-band transmitting model of WLAN using OFDM, and discuss the application of sensing technology in OFDM model. in chapter 5. Finally, the summary of the thesis is provided in chapter 6.
