As the rapidly develop of the mobile communication technology in recent years, predicting the propagation characteristics for urban area has become an important subjects. Especially rigorous requests are brought out to electromagnetic wave, it is certainly to develop indoor microcellour and WLAN( Wireless Local Area Network). When design a mobile communication system, a most important is to know: electric field intensity and fluctuate status of every point is system covered. That is say: grasp effect and interference of system: signal intensity may be got using measurement which will boost cost. So prediction of overlay interference is very important.Some predicting models have been presented since 1970's, and in last ten years, more emphases were put on making propagation models, which can predict propagation characteristics for microcellour radio and WLAN .Most propagation models , which can be adapted micro cellcluar are theory method based on ray tracing method. Experiment shows that ray tracing method can simulate the propagation characteristics for microcellour radio and WLAN in urban area exactly. But for the complicated condition of urban area , applying common ray tracing method needs more calculation and memory than the computer technology can get at now time. So we have to find a better way based on ray tracing method.In this paper, we present a new rapid ray tracing method —available visible area radiant point tree ray searching. Based on Geometry Optical Theory (GO) and Uniform Theory of Diffraction (UTD), by creating the visible facets&edges tree, this method can fmd all propagation paths form a transmitter to a receiver with high computation efficiency.Adopting the method mentioned above, we predict propagation characteristics of the communicate room in WLAN, accordingly validate the feasibility and practicability of this method. Considering this shortcoming and compare are put forward to popular electromagnetic wave prediction_ ray tracing , and other ways developing from it. At last, we realize it using C++ , offer efficient means to engineering .
