Abstract/Summary:
This memory has five parts divided into thirteen chapters, besides the introduction, conclusion and the different appendixes. In the first part we find a scientific biography and a catalogue of Camara's publications which includes unpublished texts. The rest of the thesis is dedicated to the descriptive and historic analyse of the work and other authors (Rey y Heredia, Torroja, Mundi, Vegas, Veronese,...) which let us contextualize Camara's works.; The second part, titled Synthetic Geometry, studies Camara's doctoral thesis. This constitutes a characteristic example of Torroja's synthetic geometry school. And some Apuntes de Geometria Metrica (1917) which have never been published.; The third part is about all of the works which are not attached to geometry: nomography and ballistics, Galois theory, and statistic and probability. This part emphasizes the pioneer character of the works about mathematic statistic which contributed to the implantation of this subject in the Spanish universities.; In order to place Elementos de Geometria Analitica (Camara's most emblematic work) in the university text evolution, used in the subject teaching, an analyse of the several guidebooks is included. Thanks to all of them, an overview of Spanish analytic geometry "from euclidean geometry (Zorraquin) to projective (Vegas)" is shown. And a return (Camara) to the euclidean geometry priority but, by using important technical innovations: introduction of vectors, conic and quadric pencils use....; The last part is dedicated to describe the four editions (1920, 1941, 1945 and 1963) of Elementos de Geometria Analitica, highlighting the most innovative aspects.
