This framing analysis study examined China's online news and micro-blogging posts on a variety of public issues, including diplomacy, natural disaster, and crime. Significant differences were found in the framing presence between online news and micro-blogging posts on these three issues. As two most influential groups in micro-blogging networks, public figures portrayed diplomacy and crime differently from news media users and showed more significant influences on ordinary micro-blogging users. Theoretical and practical implications were discussed. |
