Abstract/Summary:
Problem statement. The mobile sales force will increase sales revenue when allowed real-time connectivity to enterprise data through the correct selection and use of technology.;Today's sales force is being asked to provide more revenue to their companies. To accomplish this, salespeople are becoming more mobile in an effort to create and maintain better relationships with their customers. Removing the salesperson from their desk also means disconnecting them from the real time flow of information that is vital to their success.;Technology provides many opportunities to provide mobile salespeople with the information that will make them successful while away from their desks. Making the correct selection of technology to provide real-time access to enterprise date is the purpose of this project. Access to this information will allow salespeople to provide customers with the information they want, when they want it. This real-time flow of information will shorten the amount of time a salesperson spends closing any one sale, which in turn provides time to pursue additional sales opportunities. Meeting the customer's demands for information also leads to fewer lost sales which increases the salesperson's productivity and revenue stream.;This project provides a strategy for selecting the technology to provide salespeople with real-time access to enterprise data. There are many possible combinations of mobile devices, service providers, software packages, and communication mediums. Correctly identifying the best combination of components is crucial for deploying a solution for the mobile sales force.
