Enterprise application integration in distributed computing environment using service oriented architecture with Web services

Distributed systems have grown rapidly over the last few years. This increase creates the need for solving application integration issues in enterprises. Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) can play an important role in the success of an organization. Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) with the use of Web Services provides measures to solve EAI issues.;In this thesis, a case study Objects of Interest Notification System has been built based on the use of SOA with Web Services. This application shows the tremendous use of SOA and how Web Services can be used to follow the SOA to achieve high level of loose coupling, flexibility, ease of development and integration of applications under different platforms.;Also other distributed middleware technologies have been compared with SOA and Web Services and this thesis further explains why SOA and Web Services are preferred over other technologies to develop distributed applications.
