Abstract/Summary:
Computer simulation is the tool of choice for developing and testing new technologies and techniques. It is also commonly used to help teach and train students and other professionals. The Masters project done is a network simulation program whose purpose is to develop and test current networking protocols and which will also help when teaching of people who are beginning to learn how to set up and configure computer networks with the aid of graphical computer interface (GUI). The implemented routing protocol used is Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) which is the most commonly used interior gateway protocol (IGP), but the network simulator could be updated and its functionality expanded by the addition of other network layer protocols and any other protocols of the other layers of the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) Reference Model upon their implementation.
