Wireless network has been developed rapidly since 1970s. It can be categorized into center-controlled network and self-organized wireless network which is usually called Ad hoc network. Ad hoc network is getting more and more attention due to the characters of no network administration and infrastructure. Since the topological structure of Ad hoc network varies rapidly, how to improve the route reliability and the percentage of the data delivered become the central challenges in such dynamic wireless network. With the development of computer network, colleges pay more attention to the teaching of network courses. Because the content of network courses is abstract and the teaching is humdrum, to a certain extent this would lower the passion of students for the course. How to improve their interests remains a problem. In this thesis, on one hand a visual and controllable teaching platform based on NS2 was implemented through which students can configure the parameters of network by themselves and compare the results to have a deeper sight into the protocol learned. On the other hand, we revised the DSR protocol according to three aspects, the route discovery, the route selection and the route maintenance and implemented a new BSR multi-path protocol. In the first part of the thesis, we made a summary of Ad hoc network and the means of the network course teaching. In the second part, we introduced the single path protocols and multi-path protocols in Ad hoc network and made an analysis about them. In the third part, we revised the DSR protocol in three aspects and imported an optimized strategy. In the forth part, we implemented the network teaching platform and made an analysis about DSR and BSR performance. The result of the experiment indicated that the new BSR protocol lengthened the effective time of the routes between nodes and increased the percentage of the data delivered. So the BSR protocol is an efficient multi-path in Ad hoc network.
