Abstract/Summary:
The construction of the "Silk Road Economic Belt" is an important development strategy in China today. As the hinterland of the China section of the Silk Road Economic Belt, cities in northwest China along the Belt are embracing new opportunities of rapid development. However, there are problems like water resources shortage, fragile ecosystem and inefficient use of urban land as regards the land use in northwest China.Adhering to the concept of green development and realize the sustainable use of land in the rapid economic and social development of cities in northwest China along the Silk Road Economic Belt is an important guarantee for realizing the development strategy of the Silk Road Economic Belt.Given this premise, this thesis is according to sustainable development theory, resource scarcity theory and human-land relationship theory. The PSR(pressure-state-response)model is used in this thesis to select 19 indicators from economic, social and environmental aspects through a large amount of data collection and collation. And an evaluation index system regarding sustainable use was established in this thesis to evaluate the comprehensive scores of 31 cities in northwest China along the Belt. The exploratory spatial analysis tool in ArcGIS was also used to carry out spatial autocorrelation analysis of the sustainable use relationship among cities in northwest China along the Belt, revealing the time variation and spatial relationship of sustainable use of urban land in northwest China cities along the Belt.In the meantime, this thesis uses the coordination function to calculate the degree of coordination among the various subsystems of sustainable land use under the PSR framework, and analyzes the coordination relationship between people and land contained in the urban land use system. Finally, this thesis proposed relevant policy recommendations accordingly. The results indicate:(1)The level of sustainable land use in urban areas in cities in northwest China along the Belt has increased significantly in 2006 compared to that in 2016,and the sustainable use of urban land in the entire study area showed a benign development trend;(2)The level of sustainable land use has certain regional characteristics in space, and Shaanxi Province and Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region feature the most.In general, the level of sustainable land use of Shaanxi cities in the order of high to low is Guanzhong area, southern Shaanxi area, and northern Shaanxi area;the level of sustainable land use of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region is characterized by high north and low south;(3)The level of sustainable land use in cities in northwest China along the Belt is generally low,the level of regional development is not balanced, and there is no obvious correlation regarding the spatial distribution of sustainable land use. From 2006 to 2016,the local spatial autocorrelation analysis of the cities in northwest China along the Belt shows the trend of the sustainable use of land and the global evolution process of the land sustainable utilization level;(4)The urban land sustainable utilization level and the coordination degree of PSR system in cities in northwest China along Belt are generally positively correlated. The degree of coordination of the PSR system can convincingly demonstrate the relationship between the three subsystems of “pressure”(P),“state”(S)and “response”(R).
