In recent years,China's economic level has continued to grow,and all industries have paid more attention to the quality of development,Manufacturing is also included.In the process of transformation and upgrading of China's manufacturing industry,it is necessary to consider the coordination of economic benefits and environmental protection,and to ensure the integration of industrialization and informatization,the “new format” of manufacturing industry emerges at the right moment.Based on the existing research on the “new format” of the manufacturing industry,this paper clarifies the definition of the “new format” of the manufacturing industry and establishes the index system from the four aspects of economic development strength,innovation development potential,green development capability and integration development dynamics,the improved entropy weight-TOPSIS-gray correlation analysis method and spatial statistical analysis method are used to study the development level and spatial difference of manufacturing competitiveness in different regions in China under the background of "new format".This paper defines the "new format" of manufacturing industry as: a manufacturing industry that pays more attention to the integration ability,which aims to pursue better and faster transformation and development,including the integration of industrialization and information technology,as well as the integration of manufacturing and service industries.Different from traditional research,this paper integrates the ability of integration into the research scope of manufacturing competitiveness and uses panel data to analyze the dynamic characteristics and spatial characteristics of China's manufacturing competitiveness.The results show that the competitiveness level of China under the “new format” of manufacturing industry in 2013-2017 is on the rise;there are big gaps in the competitiveness level of 30 provinces and cities in China under the “new format” of manufacturing industry;competitiveness under the “new format” of manufacturing industry have weak spatial positive correlation among 30 provinces and cities.Research indicates,this paper believes that the development of manufacturing industry must not only improve the level of innovation but also enhance the level of integration development.While paying attention to the development of its own industry,it should fully draw on the advanced development experience of other regions and give full play to the spacedriven effect in order to achieve the goal of improving the overall development level of China's manufacturing industry.
