As a key technology of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, smart manufacturing has become a key element of global competitiveness.According to the 14 th Five-Year Plan, jointly issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the National Development and Reform Commission and eight other ministries, the aim is to promote the optimisation of regional resource allocation and the use of additional favourable resources, and to promote sustainable economic and social development.China must make full use of its late advantages and adopt the strategic architecture of "parallel development and integrated development" of digitalization, networking and intelligence to promote the joint development of smart manufacturing and realize digital upgrading. In this context,it is very important to theoretically and practically establish a digital innovation capability assessment system for China’s smart manufacturing enterprises. On the basis of combining relevant concepts and theoretical foundations, this paper firstly explores the internal and external factors of digital innovation of smart manufacturing enterprises;secondly distills relevant ideas in the literature and forms an index scale;adopts questionnaire scale design to collect data;and then extracts digital innovation supporting ability, digital innovation resource integration ability, digital benefit transformation ability and digital ecological synergy ability through exploratory factor analysis. The four common factors formed a digital innovation capability assessment index system for smart manufacturing enterprises, which includes 18 secondary indicators;Constructing an entropy-weighted DEMATEL-TOPSIS comprehensive assessment method, the digital innovation capability of 993 A-shares listed companies from 2017 to 2021 was assessed using a combination of subjective and objective attribution features combined with the TOPSIS model, with the help of visualization graphs to explore the changing trends and key influencing factors of smart manufacturing capability based on each of the first-tier indicator dimensions.Practice shows that the entropy-weighted DEMATEL-TOPSIS comprehensive assessment method is more practical and efficient in assessing the proximity of firms’ digital innovation capabilities. The analysis of the different dimensions of digital innovation performance shows that the overall level of digital innovation performance of China’s smart manufacturing enterprises is not high, and that the number of enterprises playing an exemplary and leading role is insufficient. It also identifies the challenges in each company’s smart manufacturing process and suggests how companies can focus on digital innovation activities and increase their digital innovation capacity. |
