| After the 1980 s,the scale of Japan ’s foreign direct investment continued to expand.In1985,the “Plaza Agreement” became a watershed for the rapid growth of Japanese foreign direct investment,so that by the end of the 1980 s,Japan had become the world ’s largest foreign direct investment country.On the one hand,the expansion of foreign direct investment has helped Japan ’s domestic industrial restructuring,on the other hand,it has also ensured the resources necessary for the development of the domestic economy to a certain extent,but at the same time,its negative effects have also followed Industry hollowing out.For the question of whether Japan’s foreign direct investment will cause the industry to hollow out,the academic community holds two opposite views.Based on this,the focus of this study is to explore the relationship between the two.At present,China’s foreign direct investment is developing rapidly,and China is in a critical period of industrial restructuring and upgrading.Therefore,studying how Japanese industrial hollowing is important for China to prevent industrial hollowing,achieve industrial structure optimization and upgrading,and maintain stable economic development Practical significance.This paper analyzes the development process of Japan’s foreign direct investment,and at the same time discusses the development process of Japanese industry hollowing out with the development of foreign direct investment.The article analyzes the domestic and foreign incentives of post-war foreign direct investment in Japan,the investment motivation of foreign direct investment in different periods,and the mechanism of foreign direct investment causing industrial hollowing,and studies the path of foreign direct investment affecting industrial hollowing from a theoretical level.Using quantitative analysis methods to study the relationship between the two,using three indicators of "scale hollowing","employment structure",and "export structure" to measure the degree of industrial hollowing in Japan after1980 s During this period,the phenomenon of industrial hollowing did occur.In order to verify the relationship between Japan ’s foreign direct investment and industrial hollowing out,an empirical study was carried out using the gray correlation analysis method.At the same time,in order to distinguish the impact of foreign direct investment on industrial hollowingout in different periods,the division was based on the stage of Japanese outward direct investment This is an empirical study of the three periods of the 1980 s,1990s and 2000 s.The empirical results show that Japan ’s foreign direct investment has an impact on the hollowing of the industry in all three periods,and in comparison,the impact in the 1990 s was even greater.In the end,the article analyzes the reasons for the failure to avoid industrial hollowing out during the process of Japan ’s foreign direct investment,and the similar situation that may occur in China,which has implications for China ’s development of foreign direct investment to effectively avoid industrial hollowing out. |
