A Study On The Problem Of Industrial Hollow In America And Japan

Industrial hollowing-out is problem which a country or an area always encountered in the adjustment period of economic development, usually accompanied by international industrial transfer and industrial structure upgrade.Now China’s economic development has entered a new period, China need to optimize and upgrade industrial structure, looking for new economic growth power, and some areas in the southeast of China have met the industrial hollowing-out problem. In this economical background,it’s very important to analyze other countries’ industrial hollowing-out problem,and draw experience and lessons from it. Therefore,this paper selects two countries,American and Japan,which have been badly effected by industrial hollowing-out problem, combined with a large number of historical data statistics,comprehensively analyzes the causes and effects of industrial hollowing-out in this two countries, summarizes the policy implications can be used for reference.This paper is divided into six chapters, the main contents of each chapter are as follows:The first chapter is the introduction, this part introduces the paper’s research background and significance, structure arrangement, research methods and possible innovation and deficiency.The second chapter is the theoretical basis and research review of industrial hollowing-out, this part firstly introduces the different definitions of domestic and foreign scholars on the industrial hollowing-out, then simply introduces some basic theories about industrial hollowing-out, including the definition and classification of industry which adopted in this paper, industry and the classification method, industrial structure upgrading rules and several representative theories of international industrial transfer, finally according to the divide of the initial stage, development stage, mature stage,makes a comprehensive description to the theoretical achievements which domestic and foreign scholars study on industrial hollowing-out.The third chapter is the analysis of America and Japan’s industrial hollow-out problem, this chapter is the core content of this paper, combined with intuitive charts which come from a large number of historical data statistics,using a lot of quantitative analysis and some qualitative analysis, comprehensively analyze the development process, the domestic and international background, the reasons and the effects of this two country’s industrial hollowing-out problem.The fourth chapter is the measures which America and Japan take for the industrial hollowing-out problem, this chapter firstly introduces American’s re-industrialization policy and Japan’s new industry development, deregulation and other measures, then simply analyze the effect of these measures.The fifth chapter is the policy implications which we get from America’s and Japan’s industrial hollowing-out for our reference.The sixth chapter is the conclusion, this chapter summarizes the viewpoint of the paper, put forward the next research direction.
