Research On The Influencing Mechanism Of Construction Workers’ Productivity Based On Health,Social Network And Behavior

The continuous development of the construction industry has also exposed many problems while promoting the growth of the national economy,especially the aging of the workforce,various occupational health damage and so on.The health and safety issues of construction workers not only restrict the growth of economic benefits but also generate numerous social problems.According to the World Health Organization’s definition of health,the health of construction workers should include three aspects of physical health,mental health,and social network.There is a practical significance to explore the impact of these three aspects of productivity.In addition,according to the science of organizational behavior and behavioral motivation incentive model,behavior can be used as an incentive to promote goals,and the health and social network of construction workers will also act through behavior.Health,social network,and behavior of construction workers are closely related to the productivity of enterprises,the occurrence of accidents,and the development of the construction industry.However,experts and scholars tend to pay more attention to the causes of safety accidents and have not systematically proposed important factors affecting the health,social network and behavior of construction workers,and have not fully studied the contribution of construction workers to the productivity of enterprises.Therefore,based on the analysis of the interaction between various factors,this paper will comprehensively study the influencing mechanism of construction workers’ productivity,and provide some inspiration for the project managers of construction enterprises.This study mainly explores four problems: the influence of construction workers’ demographic variables on the factors of productivity and individual behaviors,the influence of construction workers’ health and social network on productivity,the mediating effect of construction workers’ individual behaviors on productivity,and the moderating effect of the behaviors of construction worker’s organization on productivity.The following conclusions are obtained based on theorical analysis and empirical test on 336 validly samples.(1)The gender,age,seniority,education level and monthly income of construction workers will affect the factors of productivity and individual behaviors.Women,the higher the level of education,and the higher the monthly income of construction workers,usually perform better.The construction workers who are young and old perform poorly in all aspects,and the situation are consistent with the workers who have worked short and long in the construction industry.(2)There is a significant positive correlation between physical health,mental health and social network.Any positive intervention in one of these three variables can significantly improve the conditions of the other two variables.(3)Physical health,mental health,and social network all have significant positive correlations with productivity.The three variables affect productivity in descending order as physical health,mental health,and social network.(4)Construction workers’ individual behaviors have the mediating effect between physical health and productivity,mental health and productivity,social network and productivity respectively.The three variables affect individual behaviors in descending order as mental health,physical health,and social network.(5)The behaviors of construction workers’ organization have a positive moderating effect on the relationship between social network and productivity and between individual behaviors and productivity.Compared with the influencing degree,the former has a greater positive adjustment effect.This study has some suggestions for the project managers of construction enterprises.Initially,female workers,young workers,and older workers should be given more attention.Secondly,it is necessary to improve the conditions of construction workers’ physical health,mental health,social network,and individual behaviors by providing a material guarantee,improving mutual assistance programs,regularly organizing physical examinations,and promoting education and training.Furthermore,managers should also let the individuals feel the support and care of the organization through a series of organizational behaviors.Finally,the quality of the project is still a key factor affecting productivity,and quality control should be adopted by technology means.At last,the main conclusions and contributions are summarized and discussed.Meanwhile,the research limitations are also put forwarded.
