In recent years,chain retail enterprises made the leap progress,but the chain of companies is facing so many challenges,including "shortage" problem which is one of the biggest challenges.“Shortage is the natural enemy of sales",for franchise companies,because of Shortage,the distributors and outlets owners can't receive the delivery in time and the customers can't buy the product timely.That directly affects the company's sales and brand image.If the chain enterprises attach great importance to the shortage,decrease the rate of shortage;shorten the shortage time,which will bring huge sales growth.Based on a household products company T Company as the research object,T Company is a chain of retail enterprise,currently has about 6000 franchised outlets across the country,the sales were slow down in recent years,the shortage is one of the influencing factors.The average shortage rate was 21% in last year.That is much higher than the average level of 10%.Out of stock impacts heavily on the customer's loyalty,the trust of distributors and the company sales.In view the shortage situation of the company.This paper makes a detail investigation and analysis on the reasons for the shortage;found that the T Company's production capacity and inventory amount are normal;the main reasons for the shortage were inaccurate sales forecast and the low efficiency of logistics.This paper proposes some measures and strategies.Improve of the shortage.Improve the ordering process,establish the sales forecasting model by product category and set up scientific forecast system to improve the accuracy of sales forecast.Improving the logistics distribution networks and add logistics center to reduce shipping time.Through the above improvements to improve T company shortage problem.This paper expounds the influence of shortage for retail enterprise at home and abroad,and select the T company as the research object,research the shortage problem of enterprise,analyzes the main causes,according to the actual situation,combined with the theories and methods,building the sales forecast model,optimize the logistics system.Part of the improvement has been applied to the enterprise management that has produced some effects.Hope to bring certain reference significance for other enterprises.
