The Livelihood Strategy And Behavior Logic Of Small Farmers In The Face Of Disaster

During the Anti-Japanese War,North China was deeply affected by the disaster,the water and drought disasters alternated,the farmers' rations fell sharply,and in serious cases,disasters and famines were formed,seriously affecting the social development of rural areas.In order to continue,households must adopt a certain livelihood strategy to deal with the disaster,continue the family.Field surveys in the field found that in the face of strong external pressure,small farmers use a variety of livelihood strategies to prevent structural fractures,and on this basis,continue to generate new livelihood capital,in order to enhance their ability to resist risks,small farmers have extremely strong survival and resilience.Small farmers in the same village have adopted different livelihood strategies to survive.The problem consciousness of this paper is,how to understand the behavior logic of farmers facing disaster,why different small farmers will adopt different livelihood strategies,which affect the choice of livelihood strategy what?How does livelihood strategies and livelihood capital affect the resilience of smallholder farmers?Through the study of the oral history of zhang jia and Liu jia,this paper explores the choice of livelihood strategy and the behavior logic of rural households in China under the special background of the disaster of 1942-1944 by means of empirical investigation and case comparison.On the basis of the existing research,the research objectives of this paper are:first,to build the framework of livelihood strategy analysis of small farmers in the face of disaster in the traditional period,and second,to describe in detail the adjustment process of the livelihood strategy of small farmers,in order to explore the rational decision-making mechanism behind the behavior of farmers;Through the analysis of this paper,the research results:First,the main behavior of small holders is the choice and application of livelihood strategy,and the behavior logic is the interaction between livelihood capital and livelihood strategy.The choice difference of livelihood strategy is reflected in the different behavior patterns of small holders in the face of disaster,and thirdly,the livelihood strategy is counterproductive to the livelihood capital,increasing or reorganizing the livelihood capital when adopting the livelihood strategy.
