At present, the collective Forest Ownership Reform has launched large-scale. The basic characteristic of household contract responsibility system will be extended from farmland to woodland. Under the premise of unchanging collective forest ownership, the core interests of woodland, the forest assets right relationship is comprehensively reforming. Then ecological value and economic value will achieve a win-win situation in a higher level.Improving the peasants' livelihood is the ultimate goal of the rural development. The peasants' livelihood includes many livelihood assets. The livelihood strategy and livelihood results have some connection in the production and living practice. Therefore the collective forest ownership reform which is going to be an important property rights changing of product elements has a profound impact on peasants' livelihood and livelihood strategy in large measure. We select four administrative villages in Qianxi county of Guizhou province (Shunhe village,Xinchang Village, Yongfu village, Qing Li Village) as the study area. It uses the sustainable livelihood approach to study the collective forest ownership reform impact on the livelihood assets and livelihood strategy. Then it will analyze its causes.The quote data come from the relevant government agencies and local field research. It receives the source material by Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA). It investigated 100 farmers in four villages, and it got 96 valid questionnaires. The data content, analysis and interpretation are on the basis of the sustainable livelihoods framework.The impact of the collective forest ownership reform on peasants' livelihood shows that: in the effective period, forestland tenure reform may improve natural capital, to some extent, increase physical capital, and enhance financial and social capital.In long term, it makes the forestry production intensification and diversification and peasants' livelihood market orientation. But lacking of human capital may hinder its further development.
