Study On Aircraft Horizontal Stabilizer Assembly Moving Line Establishment Project Based Value Stream Mapping

Currently,for large-scale engineering management projects in commercial aircraft manufacturing industry,leading companies such as Boeing and Airbus have combined lean methods into whole production system and achieved assembly moving line.Although lean and moving line had not been applied thoroughly in Chinese aircraft industry,there were still many achievements.Therefore,it is necessary to study the application of lean system and assembly moving line in commercial aircraft manufacturing industry.The context in this article was critical to aircraft moving line engineering management project.The first chapter introduced the application of lean in moving line within China and outside China.The second chapter was about the overall project plan for moving line establishment and how the author used project schedule management to improve horizontal stabilizer assembly process.The third chapter was about how to solve the capacity problem of aircraft production line by using value stream mapping to facilitate the establishment of moving line.The fourth chapter was about how to solve the production problem in sophisticated bottleneck station,DMAIC was used to identify and prioritize specific problems.The fifth chapter was about how to balanced production,further,critical path,standardize time,and operator capability evaluation were used to maintain balanced production.The sixth chapter was about how to use visual management and project management to improve assembly process,how to use lean layout and ergonomics to solve the short supply of components from feeder line by redesigning the components layout and tooling equipment,and how to improve the utilization rate of space and to increase capacity gradually by using moving line plan.Under the thorough application of lean manufacturing tools,the outcomes not only achieved the target to reduce cycle time of horizontal stabilizer,but also realized 6 steps out of 9 in moving line construction step and designed the plan for next 3 steps which meet the schedule requirement of company's large scale engineering project.
