Time management, the process ensuring the timely completion of theproject, is an important part of project management. The author completed theproject of Shanghai Unicom GSM/WCDMA Integrated NetworkManagement System successfully by introducing the project managementbody of knowledge and time management theories.The project mainlyapplies the critical path method of time management,determines the projectcritical path and develops a project schedule according to the basic principlesof critical path management method;and then through the schedulecontrol,analyzing the project schedule in the project durationcontinually,managing the project as well as adjusting the schedule timelywhile actual change occurs,so that the critical path management controls theproject schedule effectively.The main creation and research work of the thesisincludes:(1) The project of network management system of communicationoperator is related to the construction of the whole company’s networkoperation structure,so the scientific management of project is veryimportant.The thesis,together with actual network system project,analyzesand practices the time management and CPM.CPM,as a core method,realizethe management of the whole life cycle of the project.The author summarizesthe problems and solutions in the process of scheduleplanning,optimization,implementationand control, improving workefficiency,shortening project cycle and confirming the achievement ofmilestone. (2) At the aspect of activity definition, the author analyzes severalnormal methods of WBS and, together with the characteristic ofGSM/WCDMA integrated networkmanagement system, adopts the methodsof WBS from top to bottom, and organizes the100%content of work anddelievery outcome,which is a solid basic work for the definition of criticalpath, activity duration estimating and the changes of delivery outcome.(3) At the aspect of activity duration estimation, the author analyzes theadvantages and disadvantages of expert judgement, analogous estimation andthree point estimation, and together with the actual process of networkmanagement project, adopts a comprehensive method of the three methodswhich can get a better precision than only one method.(4) At the aspect of the optimization and control of critical path,theauthor research some effective methods to optimize and control,selecting themethod of compressing early jobs and the method of adjusting Parallel task tocontrol the risk and to shorten the critical path.This thesis surnmarizes the importance and the successful experience ofthe critical path management in the progress of the project oftelecommunication operator integrated network management system,and theschedule control process of critical path management involved in the projectprocess which have a good reference on the development of the similarproject of operating supporting system. |
