In recent years,as a result of the impact of the world economic crisis, international trade protectionism has increased and international trade has been affected.China's exports of goods have experienced negative growth since 2015,and there is an urgent need to take strong measures to change this situation.President Xi Jinping proposed the “Belt and Road” initiative in 2013.Trade smoothness is the construction content of the “Belt and Road”,including promoting trade between China and the “Belt and Road” countries, creating a healthy and good trading environment, and stimulating the release of trade potential, which provides a good opportunity for China to develop the export trade of goods along the “Belt and Road” countries. At the same time,as the world's tariff levels continue to cut,the space for regulating international trade with tariffs is getting smaller and smaller. The international community has begun to take note of the factors that hinder international trade.Countries have reduced the cost of trade by increasing the level o f trade facilitation and thus promoting the development of international trade. The following is the main research content of this article. The first part briefly introduces the research background and significance of this paper,as well as the key research contents and methods, and expounds the innovation points and existing shortcomings of this paper. The second part summarizes the literature on the study of trade facilitation and the impact of trade facilitation on trade. The third part introduces the current situation of China's export trade of goods to countries along the “Belt and Road”.The fourth part establishes a set of trade facilitation index system with four first-level indicators and 18 second-level indicators, and analyzes the level of trade facilitation in countries along the “Belt and Road”.The fifth part conducts an empirical study on the export trade of goods between China and the countries along the “Belt and Road” through the gravity model.Based on the empirical results, this paper also analyzes the trade potential of countries along the “Belt and Road”.The sixth part summarizes the conclusions obtained in the previous section and proposes corresponding suggestions based on the conclusions. The results of the study show that China's exports of goods to countries along the “Belt and Road” account for nearly one-third of China's exports of goods, but at the same time, the level of trade facilitation along the “Belt and Road” countries is still at a relatively low level.Empirical studies have shown that the level of trade facilitation of countries along the “Belt and Road” has a significant impact on China's exports of goods. For every 1% increase in trade facilitation levels along the “Belt and Road”,China's exports of goods will increase by 1.843%.Among the four first-level indicators, port efficiency and e-commerce indicators have a significant positive impact on China's goods export trade, while customs environmental and regulatory environment indicators have not passed the test. The gross domestic product, population size and economic openness have all passed the test.In addition, the analysis of trade potential shows that China has a lot of room for improvement in the export trade of goods along the “Belt and Road” countries. The innovations of this paper are as follows.First of all, this paper establishes a comprehensive trade facilitation indicator system, including 4 first-level indicators and 18 second-level indicators, covering 7 years of data in 49 countries along the “One Belt Road” and uses principal component analysis to determine the weight of each indicator, which makes the results more scientific and reasonable.Secondly, this paper estimates the trade potential of the countries along the “Belt and Road” and studies the trade potential of China's exports of goods along the “Belt and Road” countries, which is rare in related research. At the same time, the research on China's goods export trade is ca rried out through the trade facilitation of the “Belt and Road” region,so the research perspective is relatively new.And the selected data is time-sensitive,including a comprehensive sample and a diverse data source, which makes the results are more authentic.
