The "One Belt,One Road" initiative has brought new opportunities and challenges to the woody forest products trade in China. With the rapid development of China's economy and the recovery of the world economic, the demand for trade in forest products continues to expand.China's trade with countries along the Belt and Road is closer, but the complex international situation brings many challenges to the forest products trade between China and the countries along the route. There are many challenges:the economies of China, scales, market demands and culture differ from the countries along the route;the rise in oil prices has brought about transportation cost pressures on import and export trade;the long-term turmoil in some areas along the route has become the arena of big countries, and so on.Such challenges have made the traditional import and export of forest products gradually unable to meet the needs of both parties. Therefore,in such a complicated situation,it is necessary to reposition the development of forest products trade between China and the countries along the "Belt and Road".This paper analyzes the trade of bilateral woody forest products from the perspectives of the overall,sub-region and sub-category from the current situation of China's trade with 64 countries along the "Belt and Road".Secondly, this paper also uses the relevant trade index to calculate the dominant comparative and complementary analysis of China s trade in wood forest products along the "Belt and Road".Then select the data related to the import and export trade of wood forest products between China and the 40 countries along the "Belt and Road" to establish a trade gravity model for regression analysis to study the impact of China's import and export trade of forest products along the "Belt and Road" countries. Then measure the trade potential of bilateral wood forest products. Finally,it puts forward relevant policy recommendations on China's trade in forest products along the "Belt and Road".The research results show that the trade of woody forest products between China and the "Belt and Road" countries is growing rapidly, the trade structure is concentrated, and there is great complementarity in the trade of many forest products. At the same time, there are many factors affecting the import and export trade of woody forest products between China and the countries along the "Belt and Road".It is recommended that China actively promote the construction of national infrastructure along the "Belt and Road",develop bilateral trade in forest products based on the complementarity of factor endowments, and adopt differentiated trade strategies according to different market conditions.
