After entering the 21st century,China's forestry industry has continued to improve its own production and processing levels, expand the types and scale of product production, and promote my country's forestry industry in response to the trend of economic globalization, the wave of international trade liberalization and the increasing demand for wood forest products in the world. The production and supply capacity has been developed rapidly, the scale of foreign trade of wood forest products has expanded significantly, the trade flow has been increasing year by year, and the product and market structure has also been improved.Today,China's forestry industry has occupied a pivotal position in the world, becoming the world's largest producer, processing and trading country of wood forest products, and is known as the"world timber factory".Nevertheless, forestry,as a strategic basic industry in my country,as China's economy gradually enters the "three-phase superposition" period, the internal and external pressures faced by China's forestry development are also increasing day by day.On the one hand, with the continuous advancement of my country's "Natural Forest Protection Project" and the implementation of the "Completely Stopping Commercial Logging of Natural Forests",China's forestry economic structure has undergone profound adjustments along with the national forest resource endowment and comparative advantages. In this context, effective use of domestic and foreign forest resources and markets is a rational choice for the sustainable development of my country's forestry economy, and it is also an inevitable choice for maintaining my country's timber safety. On the other hand, the import and export markets of my country's wood forest products are still highly concentrated in North America,Southeast Asia,East Asia and a few EU countries for a long time, and there is no large-scale global supply chain of wood forest products and stable export channels. The "Silk Road Economic Belt" initiative provides a favorable opportunity for my country to create a new pattern of stable,high-quality,comprehensive,multi-channel,and wide-area forestry development. This article takes the construction of the "Silk Road Economic Belt" as a perspective to study the issue of China's wood forest product trade, which has certain theoretical and practical significance. In 2013,Chairman Xi Jinping of the People's Republic of China proposed the great strategic concept of building the "Silk Road Economic Belt" that taking "deepen the construction of policy communication, facility connectivity, economic and trade smooth, capital accommodation, and people-to-people bond" as the realization path under the concept of inclusive development,to realize the vigorous development and rebalancing of the global economy by increasing the inter-regional openness, carrying out the cross-border connectivity, and raising the level of economic and trade cooperation. In view of this, this article takes the construction of the "Silk Road Economic Belt" as the background, takes China's wood forest product trade as the research object, and uses a combination of theoretical analysis and empirical analysis to comprehensively analyze China and the "Silk Road Economic Belt".The status and characteristics of the development of wood forest products trade in the countries along the route, starting from the three levels of trade scale, trade product quality and trade competitiveness, measured the influencing factors and development potential of bilateral trade, and carried out the quality and improvement potential of China's imported products. The analysis compares the international competitiveness of wood forest products between China and countries along the route, and conducts an empirical analysis on the factors affecting competitiveness. Finally, the countermeasures for the development of China's wood forest products under the background of the construction of the"Silk Road Economic Belt" were put forward,in order to provide practical policy references for the construction of the "Silk Road Economic Belt" and the substantial development of China's wood forest products trade. The specific conclusions of this article are as follows:The analysis of the status quo and characteristics of the trade development of wood forest products between China and the countries along the "Silk Road Economic Belt" shows that after entering the 21st century, the overall wood forest product trade between China and the countries of the "Silk Road Economic Belt" shows an upward trend of volatility. The characteristics of changes are obvious, and my country has been in a trade surplus all year round.China's wood forest products import and export product structure and market are stable and concentrated. The imported products are mainly wood raw materials such as logs, sawn timber and wood pulp, and the export products are wood-based products such as wood-based panels, paper products, wood products, and wood furniture.Mainly, imports are mainly concentrated in Eastern Europe and Nordic countries, and exports are mainly concentrated in countries in West Asia and Western Europe. In the past ten years, the level of wood forest product trade between China and countries along the route has been significantly improved, but the space for bilateral wood forest product trade cooperation has not been fully explored, and further exploration is still needed.Through the empirical analysis of the complementarity of bilateral wood forest products trade,it is concluded that the bilateral trade of wood forest products between China and the "Silk Road Economic Belt" is highly complementary and the trade prospects are broad.Research on the scale of wood forest product trade between China and the countries along the "Silk Road Economic Belt" shows that the growth of the per capita economic level of China and the countries along the route has the most significant effect on the scale of bilateral wood forest product trade, and the expansion of the bilateral population is also conducive to improvement. The trade scale and spatial distance of wood forest products still hinder bilateral trade;the overall level of the "five links" construction and the level of various sub-indices have a significant positive impact on the efficiency of international trade of various wood forest products between China and countries along the route At this stage,"facility connectivity" and"unblocked trade" have made greater contributions to the improvement of China's wood forest product trade efficiency, but from a development perspective, the importance of "people-to-people connectivity" is self-evident;in terms of trade efficiency At the level of potential improvement, there is a large room for improvement in the efficiency of bilateral trade of wood forest products between China and countries along the route. In addition to the "financial link",the improvement of the construction level of other "five links" is conducive to the improvement of various wood forest products in China and countries along the route.Upgrade of trade efficiency.Research on the import quality of wood forest products between China and the countries along the "Silk Road Economic Belt" shows that after the "Silk Road Economic Belt" initiative was put forward, the quality of wood forest products imported by China from most countries along the route has shown a significant upward trend, except for log imports. With the exception of a slight decline in quality, the imported quality of other products has been steadily improved. The overall level of the "five links" construction has a significant positive effect on the quality of China's wood forest products imports."Policy communication","facility connectivity","unimpeded trade" and "financial financing" all contribute to China's wood forest product imports Quality has been upgraded, but due to the relative lag in the construction of "people-to-people connectivity" between China and the countries along the route, the regression result of the "people-to-people connectivity" index is significantly negative;with the continuous advancement of the "Silk Road Economic Belt" construction,"trade"Unblocked" and "People-to-People" have great potential for quality upgrading, indicating that trade facilitation and the basis of public opinion are increasingly important to international trade."Unblocked trade" and "People's minds are the same" should be key areas of focus in the future.Research on the international competitiveness of wood forest products between China and the countries along the "Silk Road Economic Belt" shows that the competitive advantage of China's wood forest products is mainly reflected in the international market share, but is limited to China's forest resource endowment level, forest product industry development level and investment Capital and many other factors,China's wood forest products are relatively weak in terms of trade structure, revealed comparative advantages and export competitive advantages. The comprehensive competitiveness of wood forest products is in the middle and lower reaches of the research countries.Prominent problems facing the development of forest products trade;China's competitive disadvantages in wood raw materials products are obvious, and they cannot be reversed in a short time. However, wood processing products have obvious advantages in international competition, especially the three categories of wood-based panels, wood products and wood furniture have outstanding competitive advantages, which confirms the rapid development of China's forestry industry in recent years. The competitive advantages of wood forest products in the countries along the "Silk Road Economic Belt" are similar to those of China. Most of them are concentrated in wood processing products, indicating that competition in the international market of wood forest products along the route will become increasingly fierce;the level of "unblocked trade" and "connected facilities" The advancement of forestry industry and technological progress play a key role in enhancing the international competitiveness of wood forest products. Finally, based on the results of theoretical analysis and empirical analysis, three aspects including improving the trading environment of wood forest products in the "Silk Road Economic Belt",enhancing the international competitiveness of China's wood forest products, and creating a diversified wood forest product market in the "Silk Road Economic Belt" Put forward countermeasures and suggestions at various levels, hoping to provide practical policy reference for promoting the construction of my country's "Silk Road Economic Belt" and the long-term development of China's wood forest products trade.
