As one of the most important industries in our social economy,retail industry plays key roles in meeting people's increasing living needs.After China joined WTO,our retail industry is gradually opening to the world and many international retail giants enter China.Facing a relatively unfamiliar and developing market,these foreign-invested enterprises have made great success and formed their own core competitiveness by their management experience and advanced technology.However,under the impact of Chinese macro-environment,competition from local enterprises and new retailing,the core competitiveness of these foreign retail enterprises has also been challenged.They urgently need to comprehensively analyze their environment and further identify their core competitiveness in order to provide effective measures to further enhance their core competitiveness.Taking W(China)Company as an example,this paper comprehensively analyses the performance of the company's core competitiveness,existing problems and solutions.This paper is divided into five chapters.Firstly,the research background,significance,contents and methods of this study are introduced.Then,it defines the basic concepts of competitiveness,core competitiveness and core competitiveness of retail enterprises,and analyses the characteristics of retail industry.In chapter 3,by using PEST analysis method,it comprehensively analyzes the influence of political,economic,social and technological factors on W(China)company's core competitiveness.Further,SWOT analysis method is used to propose that W(China)Company's advantages are reflected in commodities,services,management,culture and so on.At the same time,it also has disadvantages in location,information and reputation.It is faced with the opportunities of China's open political environment and talent policy,as well as the threats of rising human cost,competition in the same industry and the rise of new retail.Through further analysis of W(China)company's core competitiveness,this paper suggests that W(China)company should adopt four key measures to enhance its core competitiveness:enhancing localization adaptability,improving logistics distribution system,improving commodity quality,and carrying out retail reform.These measures will play a practical guiding role in promoting the competitive advantage of W(China)enterprises in an all-round way and creating a retail model to adapt to the new era.The conclusion of this study will also provide some reference for our government to formulate reasonable policies for the retail industry and the rapid development of our local retail enterprises.
