Research On The Impact Of Green Procurement On Performance Of Wood Forest Products Enterprises

Since the 20th century,with increasing stress of restricted natural resources and serious environmental pollution,sustainable development has gradually become the strategic consensus of all countries.Under the dual advocation of government and consumers,the manufacturers had launched a series of green development activities.And the concept of green supply chain management based on the whole process of enterprise production,just emerges as the times require.As the starting point of green supply chain,green procurement has attracted more and more attention of enterprises.Through reviewing the previous studies,it is found that scholars have carried out extensive discussions on the driving force and performance impact of green procurement.However,because of the differences in the performance standards being selected as well as the areas of industries and enterprises being researched,there has not reached a unanimous conclusion concerning the influence of green procurement on enterprises.Meanwhile,available researches tends to evaluate the performance results,and lack of attention to the path of performance transmission.In this context,the paper took wood forest products enterprises as the research object,and discussed the influence of green procurement on the performance of these enterprises.Based on the resource-based view and transaction cost theory,a theoretical model of the impact of green purchasing behavior on enterprise performance was constructed through the theoretical research.Then an interview of 96 woody forest industries was made.And the empirical analysis to verify the model and assumptions was made through the SPSS22.0 and SmartPLS3.0 software.The result shows that the green purchasing behavior has a positive impact on the non-financial performance including environmental performance,operating performance and market performance.Among them,the environmental performance is greatly influenced by enterprises' internal green procurement management,while the market performance and operating performance are greatly influenced by the selection of green supplier.Meanwhile,the influence of green procurement on enterprises' financial performance is not obvious.The influence of internal green procurement management and selection of green supplier on financial performance is not supported.And non-financial performance plays a completely mediating role between them.The environmental cooperation between buyer and supplier has a positive impact on financial performance,where non-financial performance plays a partial mediating role between them.The result of the research,that green procurement has a direct and positive impact on enterprises'non-financial performance and has an indirect impact on enterprises' financial performance through non-financial performance,provides an explanation of the path that green procurement make impact on enterprises' performance.Based on the conclusions above,the paper proposes suggestions on how to advocate wood forest products enterprises to actively adopt green purchasing behavior and how to help enterprises improve their performance after green procurement.The research made contribution to the development of green procurement-performance relationship theory and the promotion of green procurement practices of wood forest products enterprises.
